Do not use the "Back" or "Forward" buttons on your browser to navigate.
Use the Navigation Menu on the left of your page to move around the Tax Withholdings application.
To exit, select another application from the tabs above or click "Main Menu".
When you are finished, click "Log Off" at the top of the page to end your session.
Timeout
To maintain security and confidentiality, Tax Withholdings will timeout in 20 minutes if there is no activity. If your session does expire, you must log on again to view and/or update your tax withholdings information.
Change My Tax Withholding Information
The Change My Tax Withholding Information page allows you to update your federal and California state tax marital status, federal personal allowances, California state regular withholding allowances, California state additional withholding allowances, and federal and California state additional tax withholding. (If you are claiming Tax Exempt Status, Additional Tax Withholding is not permitted). Upon submission of your changes, a review and confirm page will give you the choice to save your changes or cancel out your changes. A confirmation page will display your confirmation number if you have chosen to save your changes.
Tax Exempt Status
The Tax Exempt Status Update page allows you to claim exemption from both federal and California state tax withholding for the current tax year, as long as you meet the necessary requirements. If you decide to claim for exemption, a review and confirm page will display your new tax withholding data. The review and confirm page will give you the choice to confirm your exemption or cancel out of the exemption process. A confirmation page will display your confirmation number if you have chosen to confirm your claim for tax exemption.
If you are already claiming exemption from federal and California state tax withholding for the current tax year, the Tax Exempt Status page informs you of your tax exemption status.
If you are eligible to claim exemption for the following tax year, you must renew as soon as possible after January 1 of that year. Otherwise, the exemption will automatically expire in early February of that year. You may use the Tax Exempt Status Renewal page to complete the renewal process. Please check with your Payroll office for your campus renewal deadline.
California State Tax Exemption
The California State Tax Exempt page gives you instructions on what you need to do if you want to claim exemption from California state tax withholding because you are a non-resident of California and are earning compensation while located outside of California.
Estimate Tax Withheld
The Estimate Federal Tax Withholding page initially displays information from your most recent pay record, if it is available. You can change the values as an interactive way to calculate how much federal tax will be withheld from your paycheck.
